Description

Passionate guides will accompany you along the entire route and tell you many stories and anecdotes about our wine heritage.

An enriching experience that will take you through our heroic vineyard and its famous “guérites” where you will taste our wines and local dishes.

Welcome at the Celliers de Sion by your guide, followed by a bus ride to the top of our vineyard. Itinerant tastings of 9 wines and 4 gourmet stops where you will enjoy Valaisan planks, raclettes, entrecôte and a surprise dessert on your return to the Celliers de Sion.

Offer details

After the welcome at the Celliers de Sion, you will be taken by bus to the foot of the Prélêt.  You will then walk from gatehouse to gatehouse with the prospect of some nice culinary stops.

The 6 km route will take you through the most beautiful parts of our vineyard. You will enjoy a magnificent view of the Rhône plain and the surrounding mountains.

The degree of difficulty of the path is T2. It is important to be equipped with good shoes because the vineyard is steep. The paths are not suitable for people with reduced mobility or pushchairs.

    Frequently asked questions

    Are children welcome?

    Yes, you can book the Tour des Guérites for CHF 40 per child, including the same menu with fruit juice.

    Remember that the paths are steep and that you must take care of their safety.

    Please note that the paths are not suitable for pushchairs.

    Are dogs allowed?

    Yes, dogs are allowed and we provide a water bowl for them.

    What happens in case of bad weather?

    You have the possibility to reschedule or cancel the activity depending on the weather conditions, at the latest the day before the activity.

    In the event of bad weather we reserve the right to close our huts and cancel our outdoor activities. You will of course be informed personally if this happens.

    What to put in your backpack?

    Our vineyard is very sunny, so remember to bring a cap or hat and sun cream.

    Are there toilets on the course?

    Only at the following locations: Celliers de Sion, Clos du Château, Cube Varone and Brûlefer.

    How long will it take to complete the Tour des Guérites?

    The walk takes about 2 hours.

    Add to this time to enjoy the view, listen to your guide’s explanations, taste all the wines and meals offered at each stop. The total duration is about 6h30-7h.

    If we are less than 10 people can we still enjoy this activity?

    Yes, but you have to pay for 10.

    In this case, we suggest you opt for the Gourmande hike. This offer is for groups of less than 10 people.

    Is it possible to use this offer in another language?

    In order to guarantee the availability of a German or English speaking guide, please make a request early enough so that we can provide this service.

    Is the 6 km walk steep?

    Yes, but in the direction of the descent. You won’t make more than 40 meters of positive difference in altitude.

    In short: 5% uphill, 5% flat and 90% downhill.
